Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Cordierite, the local-first dictation app for macOS provided by Veltiosoft Inc. (“Veltiosoft”, “we”, “us”), and the Cordierite product website. By installing, accessing, or using Cordierite, you agree to these Terms.

License
Subject to these Terms, Veltiosoft grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Cordierite on Mac computers you own or control for lawful personal or internal business purposes.
Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of Cordierite except as permitted by applicable law
- Redistribute, rent, lease, sublicense, or sell Cordierite or any part of it
- Remove or alter proprietary notices in the app or related materials
- Use Cordierite in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights
macOS permissions
Cordierite requires macOS permissions such as Microphone, Input Monitoring, and Accessibility to provide dictation features. During app updates, macOS may also ask for Removable Volumes access so Cordierite can read the downloaded disk image (DMG). By enabling these permissions, you authorize Cordierite to use them only for the purposes described in the app and in our Privacy Policy.
No guarantee of accuracy
Speech recognition results may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing transcribed text before relying on it, especially for legal, medical, financial, or similarly sensitive uses.
Disclaimer
Cordierite is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veltiosoft disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or liabilities that cannot be excluded under applicable law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free transcription, compatibility with every app or macOS version, or that Cordierite will meet your requirements.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veltiosoft will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from your use of Cordierite. Our total liability for any claim relating to Cordierite will not exceed the amount you paid us for Cordierite in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100 if you have not paid us. This section does not apply to damages caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence, or to any liability that cannot be limited under consumer protection laws or other applicable laws.
Pro plan (planned)
Cordierite may offer an optional paid tier called Pro in the future. Pro is planned but not available yet. Any Pro prices or features shown on this website are planned only and may change before launch. Paid features, final pricing, billing terms, cancellation rules, and refund policies will be disclosed separately before they become available. At present, subscription billing is not offered through Cordierite.
Changes to Cordierite or these Terms
We may update Cordierite or these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will provide notice before the effective date through this website, in-app notice, or another reasonable method. This does not apply when immediate changes are required for legal, security, or operational reasons. Your continued use of Cordierite after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Termination
You may stop using Cordierite at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or discontinue Cordierite, in whole or in part, if required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive agreed jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or Cordierite.
